Rope Coasters

This was a fun project, albeit time-consuming.  These rope coasters are sturdy and durable. 

I used about 1/4 inch rope.  Cut strips of fabric about 1 1/2 inch wide and began wrapping and sewing.

Connect each pass around the circle with a zig zag stitch until you reach your desired size. 

 Six coasters are a perfect gift for any occasion.

Lessons Learned:
1. I've made a set for my self and really like them. The next time I think I'll cut 2" strips and fold them in half. I'm wondering if this will cut down on the "frays"?

An easy weekend project for yourself or to give to another.
