About Me

I like to create.  It can be anything from a project, a recipe, or even a clean and organized house. I try to do something creative every day.
One of my goals is to provide every member of my immediate family with a quilt of some sort of "thing" they can remember me by. A few quilts can be viewed here.

I live in upstate NY with my husband, Rich, and our pup, who I rescued on July 30, 2017.

This is our Charlie. He and I have a story to be told about his adoption, but that will be for another post.

I am a retired middle school Family and Consumer Sciences teacher. My husband is a retired union carpenter and lover of anything outdoors.  My son and daughter have successful occupations and I'm very proud of them. :) They are great kids.
A rare, but favorite photo of my family.

15-year-old Beasley joined Spaarkee over the Rainbow Bridge in Sept. 2017.

12-year-old Innocent Howie who passed in Aug. 2018

And our newest rescue, Charlie.

Our southern grandpup Leo.

Our family loves the coast of ME. We've traveled there each year for almost 40 consecutive years. We missed visiting in 2021 and 2022 because of the pandemic and the high cost of, well, everything.

A favorite place, Ogunquit ME

We also love NC and SC and hope to retire there in the future. Plans might change so who knows where we'll end up.

In 2011 our home of 25 years was taken by Hurricane Irene, and so was our friend's home. They have since been located in NC.  It's been a rough road at times, but all of us are doing our best to deal with the losses and move on towards the future. For the past 12 years we've lived in a neighboring town at 127, thus the name of this blog.

Our friends

This "blog" is about sharing. I will not share anything every day. Who has time for that anyway?  But every once in a while I will share what I like, what catches my interest, and what I think might be interesting to someone else.

Some of my hobbies include sewing, quilting, cooking, DIY projects, listening to audiobooks, learning how other people do things, and  shareing things with you.

I believe we are never too old to learn, whether in a person-to-person class, online or learning from the expertise of others.

I am humbled by my colleagues, friends, and family who have faith in me to create something for them or their loved ones.

Thanks for taking the time to read my posts. I hope you've found something interesting, enjoyable, or something you could try to create.

Create something everyday,
