Crab Rangoons and Spicy Pineapple Sauce via The Ninja Foodi

This dish is just awesome if you like this sort of food.
All the credit for this recipe goes to The Salted Pepper. She created the original recipes for the Crab Rangoons and the Pineapple Sauce.  This post just tweaks her professional post for those of us who do not have all the tools she does.

The first recipe is the Pineapple Sauce. I do not have the Ninja Hot and Cold Blender and I'm not so sure I need it. This is how I improvised. I gathered all the ingredients and followed the Salted Pepper's recipe, but instead of using the blender, I put them all in my mini Ninja chopper. I'm not sure they sell it anymore, but I'm glad I have it.

I pulsed the mixture until it became a thick liquid mixture and put it in a microwave dish to heat up when the Crab Rangoons were done.

On to the Rangoons. Here are the ingredients for the crab mixture. I forgot the Worcestershire sauce in the picture, so make sure you follow the Salted Pepper Recipe.

Once again I used my mini chopper to mix all the ingredients called for in the recipe.
I laid out the wontons on a baking rack as suggested in the original recipe.
I used a barbeque sauce brush to dab each side with water to seal each of the wontons.
It was suggested in the recipe to not put too much of the mixture on the wonton or it would burst out during the air frying process.
Of course, I tempted fate and yes, the crab stuffing did make it's way out of the Rangoon when air fried.

All in all, the process was a simple one. Just follow the Salted Peppers recipe and you will end up with a delicious appetizer.

And of course, Charlie discovered how to jump up onto a kitchen stool and watch me make the Rangoons and hope he might get a taste.

Overall, this recipe was liked by all members of my family. It was very tasty. I particularly liked the crab mixture. I normally am not a fan of spices but I did like the pineapple sauce with a kick of hot pepper spice.

Lessons learned from this recipe:
1. It's okay to improvise if you don't have the same tools that the original recipe calls for.
2. Recipes are meant to be altered to our family or guests' tastes.  Don't be afraid to get creative here and there.
3. Next time I might lessen the time to air fry the rangoons.

Have you tried these recipes from The Salted Pepper? I would love to hear your feedback.

Tastefully yours,
