Valentine's Crafts 2015

Seems I'm always posting after the holidays and special events. Maybe someday I'll get around to posting these things before the actual time they can be used. However, you can think of it this way: you now have a full year to make these easy items to cheer up your home.

First up we have Twine Wrapped Candles

These were very easy to make. I first cut out some felt hearts on my Cricut Explore. They can just as easily be cut out by hand though.

I then wrapped each candle about 7 or 8 times around with the twine securing it with hot glue.  I glued the heart on top of where the end of the twine was.

Use a plate or a globe and fill in with pieces of red glass or anything you wish. Last year I used candy conversation hearts. I suppose red hot hearts would be kind of neat too.

Next is an Easy Peasy Paper Heart Garland

I love the garland craze. One of these days I'm going to make a fabric garland for yearly celebrations. But in the meantime, this paper one was so quick and easy, I'm going to make a few for various holidays.

I used various patterns of pink and red papers to cut out hearts on the Cricut.

A small red heart was glued to the larger multi patterned hearts.

I then sewed each of the hearts together using plain white thread on the sewing machine. This was so easy.

I see a nice one for St. Patrick's Day coming soon.

And last, a Lighted Glass Love Block

Thank goodness for snow days and the Cricut. This baby has been working overtime today cutting all these fun things for the holiday.

I cut out vinyl and adhered it to a frosted glass block.  The frost is just a spray purchased at Michael's Craft Store.  I then filled the block with battery operated lights and wrapped the block in a festive red ribbon.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day.
